Yay! It’s blog post day! Welcome back to Experience Local, where we tell you all there is to know about hidden gems right here in Palm Beach County! Before we get started, we just wanted to remind our readers that Luxury Partners Realty in the Shoppes at Addison Place is open for all your real estate needs! We want to hear all of your ideas and locations that you want us to highlight on our blog and social media platforms. So be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to keep a close eye on all of our content! We can only imagine how our nature fanatics are feeling about the stay at home orders. Luckily for you, there are two places that should be on your list to visit in order to get that adventure back in your life! Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge and Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market are this week’s highlights of local gems all because of their beautiful scenery and activities!

Starting with the wildlife refuge, this is the perfect venue to take guests of all ages to enjoy Mother Nature at its finest. This refuge is quite large on the map so to be specific, the areas we visited were on US Route 441 and Lee Road, but we encourage you to visit the entire refuge in multiple visits to truly experience it. Once you arrive, you are welcomed to walk on the Cypress Swamp Boardwalk where you can sit down and admire the view or walk around! As you walk down the path, you are welcomed by the beautiful bird calls, the peaceful sound of the wind moving the trees and facts on boards that describe the types of animals and plants you will find on your trip. We highly recommend you come prepared with water to hydrate yourselves, sneakers to avoid tripping and dirt in your shoes, and bug spray to ward off mosquitos and other bugs. The boardwalk is not that long of a walk which makes it perfect for kids who love to run around and even relax in their strollers! If the walk is not your cup of tea, you are more than welcome to bring a picnic basket to enjoy a nice lunch with an astonishing view. Not only that, but this is the perfect location for aspiring photographers to practice their photography skills by capturing nature in it’s perfect element. The fun doesn’t stop there, you can also go canoeing, kayaking, and boating down the beautiful trail at the end of Lee Road! These are just some out of the multiple paths visitors can take to walk and bike around, visitors are encouraged to visit the Marsh Trail and Butterfly Garden to explore some more.

Now onto Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market, which is right across from the wildlife refuge! What is remarkable about this market is that everything they sell and make comes from their home grown farm, allowing their guests to enjoy their fresh produce. Whether it is doing your weekly grocery shopping or just a quick trip for ingredients, this farmers market has so much to offer for its guests. Be sure to be on the lookout for their fall events that consist of pumpkin patches, tractor rides, photo opportunities, and so much more! It is so important to support local businesses during this season that we are in, and it is even better to turn these businesses into our regular spots. Please be sure to visit Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge and Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market!
